Erika & Gamaliel

Wow!! Today, I had the pleasure of being interviewed by Erika & Ebony for Erika's June '08 wedding. The wonderful plans that Erika has, made me want to go grab Ken and get married all over again. I just couldn't resist taking a couple quick shots of the whole family but, the one I liked the best shows them sisterly hug. I really like my job.

Jammin Kids Suzuki Players

It is the day after Christmas and when most kids are hanging out at the mall, five talented kids took time out to go the Cleveland Clinic for a Christmas concert. Kyle DePiola; Koleen Estrada; Ashley Pazzotti; Nataly Azzcura; Jessica Ciocon & Dr. Jerry Ciocon played an assortment of Christmas music for two hours. They were accompanied by Ursula Elliot and lead by Mr. Ira Gutzeit. The music was amazing and kudos to Brianna, the Administrative Assistant for Jammin Kids, who is also very talented.

Happy Birthday Terri

I know it is almost 2:30am, but I just left the most awesome Birthday Party ever at The Grand Palms Hotel. The DJ was the bomb - he said he was there to play for the party not with the party and so everybody had to get up and dance. He definitely had the crowd going.

Anyway Happy Birthday Terri. Wanda & Nate thank You for asking me to be your photographer for this event. To everyone and all my friends (Julie, Al, & Vernet) that I haven't seen in awhile - Merry Christmas and A Prosperous New Year!!!

Congratulations Angela & Lance on getting engaged. This week I worked with this wonderful couple on City Beach in Hallandale doing their engagement shots. Oh, there were so many fantastic shots to choose from. So far I have it narrowed down to 28. I can't wait to see the final piece, but one of my personal favorites is this one showing Lance sneaking a kiss while my back was turned. I saw him out of the corner of my eye and quickly turned and got the shot. Just an intimate moment between a couple in love.

On Saturday, I interviewed with Arlene and Stephen, from Rose of Eden Flowers in Miramar. We spent an enjoyable hour together, talking and taking a few pictures. Of course, I had Quincy, my 8 year old & advisor, quasi partner with me. He wanted to know if Arlene does cakes (it's all about the wedding cake for Quincy). Arlene is a wedding planner and florist who does weddings; parties; gourmet baskets. I can't wait to do an event together.

My Saturday's are incredibly busy and this one was no different, after
leaving Arlene & Stephen I went right to Pro Player Stadium to shoot Community Book & Dance Club who were performing at the City of Miami Gardens Christmas Party. Oh those kids were awesome! Pictured on the right is Gentry George performing an Alvin Ailey dance routine. Watch out for this young man, he is destined for great things. All the performers were unbelievable (just to name a few) - Patrice, Bianca, Mercedes, Brian, Jade, Crystal, Corey, Mr Allen, The Miami Tempting T's and Ms Linda - they all did a fantastic job. And thanks to all the parents who worked behind the
scene to get the performers ready - Ms Joyce, Ms Margaret, Ms Cindy, Bianca's Mom and Andrea - Patrice's Mom.

My last event on Saturday was the Tree Trimming party at Ray & Bill's. What a great idea, invite your friend's over to help you decorate your tree!!! Better yet have another party after the holidays so that those same friends can help you clean up. Great party - wonderful people!!

Incredible Weekend!!

I had the most incredible weekend, on Friday, my friend, Pam invited me to "Happy Hour" at Miriam's house. What a blast!! I haven't laughed so hard in months. I am so glad I decided to go; there were 14 of us and everyone was bouncing ideas off each other; laughing and joking; and all around just having good clean fun. I had to leave early because I had to work on Saturday or I would have still been there listening to rival war stories about NY versus Florida (no contest there) Marines versus Army and Air Force. Sorry there were no Sailors represented!

On Saturday, I had the pleasure of working with the photographer, Naha Nixon, on one of his coming projects. Without giving too much away I can now say, I have a better understanding of how men feel about their cars than I did before. We spent hours talking 'shop' and adjusting the lighting just to create the powerful images he was looking for. I am looking forward to seeing the completed project. I took this shot of Nixon while he was setting up another shot.

Incredible as it may seem, my weekend did not end there, Antoinette, one of the ladies from Friday night's "Happy Hour" invited me to the Euphoria Book Club meeting on Sunday at the Big Tomato on Pines Blvd where the food is awesome. WOW!! what can I say, yes we discussed the book "The Ex Files" by Victoria Christopher Murray, but so much else was going on.
Julienne, the CEO of J.O. Sweets & Treats, Inc. showcased two flavors of her special treat "Conookie" which is a cross between a cookie and candy. Very nice, and as you can see from the picture, this is going to be a hot seller. Another member JuJu, gave us all samples of her cakes, which were going so fast that I didn't even have time to get a picture!!!

Folks, I had a wonderful weekend, thanks for including me. Pam D. as always thanks for being such as great friend. Miriam, Julienne, and JuJu continue to shine and prosper. Pat N. keep up the great work with the book club. And to Al, Antoinette, Bridgette and all the other ladies out there everyday protecting us and risking their lives, thanks. By the way, I am taking Monday off to recuperate!!

Chef Walker

I have to tell everyone just how blessed I am...tonight I had an opportunity to work with Chef Walker of Walker's First Class Catering 786-413-0995. What an honor. One of the great things about my life, is that everyday I learn something new. Before the bridal party arrived, Chef Walker told me to meet him out in the parking lot. Now, usually that is not a good thing for someone to tell you but I went anyway. Chef Walker and his staff walked out there with refreshments and food for the bridal party to have before they came into the reception. How awesome is that. How considerate. WOW!! In all my years as a wedding photographer I have NEVER seen that done before. Okay, Brides-to-be if you don't have your caterer yet, you have got to check out Chef Walker. I don't have his website information yet, but as soon as I do I will post it.

Shirley & Crystal can sing!!!

Wow, Shirley and Crystal can really sing. It was unbelievable!!! Crystal is American Idol material.

What can I say, last night was wonderful, I am reviewing the pictures now and they are fantastic.

This morning I asked Quincy if he enjoyed himself last night and his comment was that we left too soon - he wanted to stay and dance some more!!! We left right about 10:30.

For all of you who don't know, Quincy is only 8 years old!!!

Cannonball

Hi and welcome to my brand new web journal. This is blog stuff is very new to me, so I figured I would start by adding a picture of Quincy doing a "Cannonball" imitation.

This is the final week before Shakila & Daniel's wedding, and I am making a list of the must have pictures for their wedding. I am already laying out the story for their coffee table book in my head.

Check back on Sunday for an update!!!
